Tide 1-2/3"
The Object "Tide" is a self-contained underwater ecosystem encased in glass. True to its name, the piece captures the vibrant density of a shallow coral reef or tide pool. The composition is anchored by striking orange blooms that resemble sea anemones, featuring speckled centers that draw the eye. These central figures are surrounded by a complex seascape of purple fan corals, teal ribbons, and delicate white lattice structures that mimic sea fans. Hernburg has incorporated controlled air bubbles throughout the piece, which catch the light and simulate the oxygenated movement of crashing waves. It is a chaotic, beautiful snapshot of life beneath the surface.
The Artist Elena Hernburg is a distinguished glass artist living and working in Cetinje, Montenegro. While many artists focus on scale, Hernburg’s focus is on the intimacy of the object—creating intricate beads, pendants, and marbles defined by rich, finely detailed compositions. Her work is the result of years of refinement; every element is crafted by hand using proprietary lampwork techniques she has developed specifically to achieve superior clarity and depth. The result is a body of work that balances technical mastery with a touch of wonder.
