String Concert 1-3/5"
The Object "String Concert" is a visual melody that balances rigid structure with organic softness. The piece is grounded by a stunning base of deep violet glass, pulled into tight, parallel striations that mimic the vibrating strings of an instrument or the warp of a loom. Rising from this linear foundation is a harmonious bouquet of white asters and purple wildflowers, interspersed with bright green foliage. The crisp white petals of the primary blooms contrast sharply with the dark, rhythmic lines of the base, creating a composition that feels like a garden growing out of a musical instrument.
The Artist Elena Hernburg is a distinguished glass artist living and working in Cetinje, Montenegro. While many artists focus on scale, Hernburg’s focus is on the intimacy of the object—creating intricate beads, pendants, and marbles defined by rich, finely detailed compositions. Her work is the result of years of refinement; every element is crafted by hand using proprietary lampwork techniques she has developed specifically to achieve superior clarity and depth. The result is a body of work that balances technical mastery with a touch of wonder.
